| Description | David Ryckaert III was trained by his father, David Ryckaert II (1560-1607), and was influenced by both Teniers and Brouwer. Ryckaert was one of the earliest masters to be influenced by the paintings of David Teniers the younger. He created work directly emulating Teniers, but also works in his own personal style. In his tavern scenes he often employed the same model for the figures of the drinking peasants, and his palette consisted largely of cool colours which he used on a grey ground. | |
